So sorry that we arrived home and dropped out of blogosphere. Meredith, here's a little something to read on your break. :)
Our week at home has been fantastic. We've circled the wagons quite a bit this week and not done most of the activities that busy us. Scott has been home all week and we just enjoyed spending some quality time together. I'm not sure if it's allergies or we're passing something around, but almost everybody has been snotty and not feeling well at some point, so we've just been hanging low.
Caroline is back to about 95% of her original sweet self. The surgery and week in the hospital actually went pretty closely to what I had anticipated it to look like. I didn't really have any expectation about what her recovery would be once we arrived home. It's remarkable. She is eating twice as much at one sitting as she did before the surgery. She acts like she feels great. You'd never guess that she had major surgery not quite two weeks ago. Caroline found her voice with the surgery. She is talking, singing, laughing or fussing almost non-stop. That's quite a contrast from my super quiet baby of 3 weeks ago. We go back to the cardiologist on Friday and will have the stitches from the drainage tubes removed. That will boost her to 98% and when she begins sleeping through the night again (hopefully sooner rather than later) we'll be back up to 100%. Praise God!
The rest of us are doing great as well. We go into birthday season around here at this time of the year. We're gathering supplies for Julia's birthday and beginning to think about Shelby's 5th. Scott has one more full week at home and then goes back to work for Delta.
Thank you again for your support, prayers, meals, visits, calls and e-mails during this time. We appreciate you more than you know. We are so blessed to be so well loved. Thank you.
PS. Julia's cute t-shirt is by Sweet Tees. Ashley's been selling them like hotcakes. You can find them here. :)
