On Sunday after church, we happened to dine at the same restaurant (Five Guys, of course) as two great families from church. You know, the always wearing pearls put together kind. The ladies sat together and one of them asked me, "Katie, what do you do for fun??" "I don't." I told her. "Who has time for fun???" I begin to explain (unload) all about how I had spent the day before. While my sweet family spent a BEAUTIFUL Saturday at the pumpkin patch with the cousins, I stayed home to do housework. I had washed clothes all week but hadn't folded the first thing. I had at least 12 loads of laundry in baskets stacked on baskets. Of course, since I had let them sit all week, they now all had to be ironed as well. I spent Saturday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon working on laundry.
Well, those two sweet put-together mamas looked at each and grinned. "Honey, we just REWASH. We had this conversation not long ago. We don't tell our husbands because we don't want to hear a lecture about water and energy usage, we just throw those wrinkled suckers back into the washing machine." WHAT?????? Apparently, (now having been confirmed by an unnamed sister) this is somewhat common practice. In case you're having an overwhelmed day and the laundry has piled up. Fear not. Rewash. It's our little secret.

You don't even have to re-wash. If you just stick them in the dryer, the heat will get all the wrinkles out. It isn't just moms that do this :)
I re-wash myself and love love it! If it sits to long in the washer b/c I forgot to switch it over, then it gets rewashed too. Glad someone could help a sister. Don't you love those pearl wearing Southern belles!
I love the Downy Wrinkle Releaser! It's awesome for wrinkly baskets of clothes, just hang them up spray and then tug/smooth and let them dry. It works wonders and is a big time saver !!! Here's a link with a coupon, http://www.downyez.com/
I'll redry the heck out of my clothes-like 5 times if it takes it until it gets folded. If your clothes or towels sit too long in the washing machine, just add ammonia and detergent when you rewash and the "sour" smell will come out too. I CAN NOT BELIEVE you sat there and ironed all those clothes! CRAZY! You'd have to pay me big bucks to do that! Yeah, though...Don't tell Walker how many times I redry those clothes-whatever the price, it's worth it! TOO FUNNY! The whole post was funny! Glad you learned something new! :) (that al brown should get full credit!)
Yep! Re-wash is a must at times!! Sometimes to save energy, water & soap (money!)...I just turn the rinse cycle on 'em---they're already clean...just wrinkled! ;)
Or.... do what I do. Wear wrinkly clothes!
If you wet a wash cloth and put it in the dryer with the clothes (they are dry) and turn the dryer on, it will be damp enough to help get the wrinkles out. Glad to help.

My mother in law came to help one time while Andy and I traveled. She introduced me to only wash it if it really, really needs it. If it doesn't stink or have obvious stains refold and let it go. This has helped me so-o-o much. In a few years the kids will be folding for you, this is bliss.
Ironing...what is that?! :) Too much life going on to iron. Don't worry about it :). I buy very little to begin with and I do have 2 boys who live in tshirts and pants/shorts. My baby girl may be worried, but why purchase something that will only ensue more work to be done and less time to enjoy. Next time, go to the pumpkin patch and know that you will never get ahead and in the end...does it matter? Hanford Friend
I thought I was the only one who did that!!!!!
I just sprinkle water in the dryer and re-dry. No wrinkles. I don't think we even own a iron!
