Nothing to Fear but Fear Itself

So... my earlier post has only been published for minutes and already I'm kind of regretting it.  :)  I mean, really, what do I know about politics??  Not much.  I'm going to leave it posted, but I'm also going to write about something I do know for sure.

In the midst of these bad economic times, it is easy and perfectly human to have fear about the future and our security.  However, as the Lord has been teaching me, fear is not from God.  God is perfect love and love is the opposite of fear.  Perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).  We can rest in the promise that God loves us and "that in all things God works for the good of those who loves him." (Romans 8:28)  My favorite movie, "Facing the Giants," is full of my favorite quotes.  One of them is about how God tell us 365 times in the Bible not to fear and that if he says anything that many times, he probably means it.  I don't really know if that number is right, but I do believe that the concept is.   He's on the throne and He loves us, so have no fear.  He's got a plan... Glad the Democrats aren't in charge of it.  :)

I promise to talk about the kids next time!!!
