Firefighters and Pregnancy

Honestly, I don't know what it is about my pregnancy hormones that makes me weepy about firefighters.  When I was pregnant with Grace, I was driving to work one day and stopped at a red light in the right lane next to a fire truck.  A firefighter was in the passenger side of his fire truck with the window rolled down.  I rolled down my window and proceeded to yell at him, "EXCUSE ME!!  EXCUSE ME!!  THANK YOU!!!"  "For what?" he says.  Now weeping I yell, "FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!!!!" and I drive away like the crazy woman I apparently am.
We went to the Hartselle Christmas parade tonight.  There were at least a dozen fire trucks in the stupid parade with firefighters both riding inside and walking alongside.  I was teary just seeing those firefighters walk down the street.  I appreciate their service and what they're willing to sacrifice.  However, I'm not generally overly weepy - not even during pregnancy - but it's something about those firefighters that turns on my waterworks.  Go figure...
