The Braddocks were off for another fun adventure this past weekend. I've had LOTS of cool Navy experiences, but had never been to an Army/Navy football game. Forget the firefighters - it's the Navy guys that totally have my heart! :) Mary K & Gene treated us to a fantastic weekend in Philadelphia - our Army/Navy honeymoon weekend. It was a ballgame full of pomp and circumstance, respectful fans, tributes to the military, nostalgia and plenty of hand warmers. Christy & Matt kept the kids (a whole adventure of their own!!) and off we went.
Us before the game - it was FREEZING!!
Blogger never would load my picture of the "march on". We got to the ballgame hours early so that we could watch both schools march every midshipman/cadet onto the field, stand in formation and cheer on their team.

President Bush greeting the Army football players right in front of us. It's not every football game that hosts the President of the United States!!!

These are runners from both West Point and Annapolis. Each side RAN a football from their school to the game on Saturday - about 150 miles!! I thought they were worth taking a picture of!!!
At halftime, President Bush switched his seat from one side to the other - no favoritism here!

After we had warmed up (and watched the Alabama/Florida game) we ventured on a walk to dinner. It was a perfect evening - strolling through historic Philadelphia in the snow. The weekend couldn't have been better. Thank you, Mary K & Gene!!! Did I mention Navy won 34-0?? Go Navy! Beat Army! :)
