As we drove back out to the neighborhood yesterday, it was obvious that a tornado had come through. The path of destruction was no more than 200 yards from my parents' house. The storm passed through as we were driving to their house the night before - AFTER the all clear had been given, sirens had been turned off and the tv returned to regular programming. Two big trees fell on a trailer just around the corner and killed a man sitting inside. Otherwise, no injuries but a crazy amount of trees down.
There have been several severe storms in the last few months - enough that this novice girl hasn't been taking them as seriously as I should. The damage I saw yesterday is enough to put it all into perspective and make me count my blessings. Mama - I promise to do better. :) My Daddy took these pictures yesterday of a couple of neighbors' houses.
In other weather news, I checked temperatures before bed last night so that I'd be able to plan outfits for the kids for today. The current temperature in Alabama last night at bedtime was 57 degrees. In Lemoore, California it was 91 degrees. More blessings to count. :)
