Last Thursday afternoon, Scott was assigned a 4 day trip that included 2 nights in Pensacola. True to Braddock form, I figure it's a great deal to be assigned 2 nights in the same location - at the beach - within driving distance from here - over 4th of July weekend - so why not go?? Doesn't everybody think driving all day with 4 small children by yourself is a great idea?? :) I loaded up the kids and the car and set out early on Friday morning for what should've been a 5 1/2 hour drive to P'cola. 7 long hours later, we arrived at the hotel and never left.
Fortunately, our very special friends, Ben & Jennifer, live in Pensacola and didn't have big plans for the weekend. You know you have dear friends when you surprise them by being in town and they manage to spend the whole weekend hanging out at your hotel. It was fantastic. We are still in germ-crazy mode with Caroline and not taking her into public places. Because of that, we spent the entire visit poolside at the hotel or eating take out food in the hotel courtyard. We loved every minute of it. It was a good thing that the visit with the Heinemeiers (and Scott for that matter) was so great because the 8 1/2 hour trip home became the trip that was never gonna end...
We love you, Heines!! Thanks for taking time to love on us and our kids. Happy 4th of July!

Grace decided that she would be a real swimmer this weekend! I'm so proud I could just pop.
