Katie and I have been back to visit with Caroline. We met with the surgeon after the surgery and he said that it went well. The large hole in her heart has been closed and the valves were created with "mild" and "trivial" leakage. What tremendous words!
Katie and I with all our family here were able to go back and visit with Caroline. Despite the 14 probes in her body and 4 monitors, she looked great and we are so excited that we are through this step.
She has tremendous nurses and doctors taking care of her right now. We will let you all know more when we get a chance to rest.
The doctor said specifically that our prayer should be for an uneventful night. "The most exciting thing that we want to see from Caroline tonight is a lot of pee," to be more exact. She said that patients coming off a heart/lung bypass machine tend to get slightly sicker 6-12 hours after the surgery. We're praying for a peaceful night...
We are beyond thankful and relieved for the miracle of today's surgery. We stand amazed...

Sweet Caroline! She looks pitiful, but it's amazing to think how God will restore that body completely! We'll pray for lots of pee tonight! AMAZING! Love y'all!

Scott and Katie just wanted you guys to know we have been praying for you and Caroline and it looks like we're not alone.
