So, my sweet niece and nephew are spending the night with us tonight. We've had a fantastic day and the kids have played and played and played. Just before naptime, I was in the bathroom with Julia and in walks Grace with two hands wrapped around this cardinal. Obviously, this bird must be dead because my five year old has two hands wrapped around it while standing inside my house. My first reaction was approximately "Ahhhhhhhhhh! Take it outside!!!!" Grace obediently walks outside and deposits the dead bird directly in front of the front door. Apparently, Anna had originally found the bird on the porch and she & Grace must've taken turns passing the dead bird around before Grace brought it inside to show me. We've since gone outside and studied the dead bird with a magnifying glass and determined that the cause of death must've been from flying into the front window of the house. We've been playing outside a lot today because the weather is beautiful, but now we're having to step over and/or around the dead bird to walk in and out of the house. I'd have to ask the girls to move the bird again if my daddy weren't coming over in less than an hour for Shelby's birthday party. Again, I can appreciate moving to Alabama and having my daddy come over and save the day. Have I ever told you the story about the dead baby bird in California while Scott was on cruise??? That's a bird story for a whole 'nother day...
I had a picture to go with this post, but it's taken more than 16 hours to load. Does anybody else have this problem with blogger??? Any suggestions are appreciated...
