Turkeys and Boyfriends

So, my daddy spent the other day passing out Thanksgiving dinners to those who might've done without.  He started at the grocery store where he loaded up 70 turkeys (4 to a box) in the back of his truck.  Yes, 70 turkeys will fill up the bed of a pickup truck.  We had dinner with my parents the other night and Daddy told us all about his adventures with the turkeys and passing them out.

When I picked Grace up from school yesterday I asked about her day.  "It was good." was all that I got.  "A little bit good or a lot good?" was my next question - probing for more information.  Apparently it was "a lot good" because she went on to tell this story.  Grace went to school the other day and told Hudson, the cute little boy who sits at her classroom table, about Grandaddy and his turkeys.  Hudson liked that story and proceeded to tell Grace that she was now his girlfriend and he was her boyfriend.  Hudson must've really liked Grandaddy's story!  I asked Grace what it meant that Hudson was now her boyfriend.  She said, "it means that he'll be my friend forever."  I thought that sounded like a pretty good gig and asked if I too could be her boyfriend.  She giggled and told me that since I was a girl, I'd just have to stay her mama.  That sounds like an even better deal to me.  :)
